New Adidas Ad With Messi Is A Treat For Football Fans

A new Adidas ad with Messi gets intimate. The video is narrated by David Beckham and features a plethora of football stars. The commercial shows them at various moments of doubt and triumph off and on the field. Achieving your goals and not forgetting where you come from are among the main topics here.

New Adidas ad with Messi is an all-star affair

Just take a look at this list. Adidas managed to gather Gianluigi Donnarumma (Paris Saint-Germain), Giovanni Reyna (Nottingham Forest), Ousmane Dembélé (Paris Saint-Germain), Pedri (Barcelona), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen) and Lionel Messi (Inter Miami) in one video.

Moreover, the one and only David Beckham (who is also Inter Miami CF’s owner) gives a great narration to this commercial and appears in the end.

Adidas surely knows how to put on an unforgettable promotional show and this ad doesn’t disappoint. The campaign comes ahead of two major football summer competitions: UEFA EURO 2024 and America’s leading international football tournament.

The soundtrack here is brilliant. It’s the timeless “Under Pressure” by Queen and David Bowie. The song perfectly aligns with the main theme of the video which is “You Got This,” or, according to Adidas “turning the world’s expectations into personal victories.”

Although the running time is only 1:30, we have a generous peak into the personal lives of the athletes and whirlwind traveling across the continents too.

Overcoming pressure in sports

“This campaign serves to remind us all that pressure can be felt at any level, no matter the accolades or achievements. Our ambition remains to help disarm negative pressure in sport and encourage elite and grassroots players to reconnect with what ignited their love for the game. We hope our rallying cry, ‘You Got This,’ invites athletes of all levels to overcome the pressure and achieve their personal possibilities in sport,” said Florian Alt, vice-president of global brand comms at Adidas about the main message of the campaign.

“When you first play for your national team, it comes with a higher level of pressure and one you have to adapt to quickly. From playing at a high level at such a young age, I’ve learned pressure is more of a responsibility; it can be hard to play under pressure,” commented Jude Bellingham.

The new Adidas ad with Messi is not the first one the Argentine star has done this year. Earlier, we’ve seen him in a Lays campaign and even a Hard Rock promotion with Shakira and John Legend. Leo is busy these days.
