7 Celebrity Ads We Loved In 2024

Superstars make ads better. That’s a fact. So why not celebrate the best celebrity ads of 2024? We’ve got a selection for you featuring bombastic, weird, heartwarming, and straight-up bonkers campaigns with famous people.

1. Michael CeraVe – CeraVe Skincare

Celebrity: Michael Cera

Why: ever since his brilliant performance as an awkward teenage slacker musician in “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” Michael Cera hasn’t had a proper superstar moment. The Canadian actor appeared in many productions including “Barbie,” but it’s the CeraVe Skincare commercial that made us talk about him again in a leading man capacity.

That is because he carries this campaign. Using his trademark charisma, Cera imagines himself as a guru-like skincare developer who creates an ultimate moisturizing cream. He gives a massage to… himself, talks to dolphins in a dolphin language, climbs and moisturizes the mountain, and counts seductively for no reason. It’s fun to watch and we rightfully place the CeraVe campaign among the best celebrity ads of 2024.

2. Extraterrentrials – Apartments.com

Celebrity: Jeff Goldblum

Why: let’s be frank, we would watch Jeff Goldblum in anything with great pleasure. The “Jurassic Park” can make any line memorable and his delivery is always on point. That’s why when he proclaims “I know renters when I see them” upon meeting with two menacingly-looking aliens, it makes sense.

Apartments.com chose the right spokesperson for their Super Bowl stunt and everyone won. The aliens got to use the website to find themselves a “lovely one-bedroom, two-bedroom, I don’t want to presume” apartment as Goldblum puts it. The actor got a fat paycheck for under 30 seconds of work. And we have gotten ourselves one of the best celebrity ads of 2024.

3. Don’t Forget – Uber Eats

Celebrities: Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, David Beckham, Viktoria Beckham, Usher, Jelly Roll

Why: in 2024, Uber treated us to one of the star-studded commercials in recent memory. The company decided to jam all the celebrities together to promote the fact that Uber Eats can deliver other things than food. And that’s how we got a Friends alums David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston reunion in LA. A David and Viktoria Beckham banter in the kitchen. Jelly Roll forgetting why he got the face tattoos. And Usher dreaming of playing a halftime Super Bowl show someday. Well, that’s pure advertising magic right there by the company that can easily afford it.

4. Circle Week – Target

Celebrity: Kristen Wiig

Why: it’s always great to see a brand with self-awareness and pop culture understanding. Target decided to go with the joke and implement the sketch show character that parodied the brand. The sketch show in question is SNL and the character is Kristen Wiig’s Target Lady. In 2024, we finally got the long-awaited collaboration between the retailer and the character.

The ad didn’t disappoint. Target chose to go down the parody path and created a slightly dystopian version of Target Lady’s life where she has a calculated morning with all things from the retailers in her house. Also, she enters the store through a hole in a wall, so she lives at Target too apparently. Kristen Wiig is brilliant as always and it’s one of the best celebrity commercials or celebrity ads in 2024.

5. Do the Dew – Mountain Dew

Celebrities: Aubrey Plaza and Nick Offerman

Why: it’s refreshing to see the commercials that look like celebrities are actually having a good time there. The latest ad for Mountain Dew is a great example of that. Aubrey Plaza gives it all in promoting the beverage brand. Or “having a blast” as the ad suggests.

The “Parks and Rec” and “White Lotus” actor dons her trademark smirk to a series of ordinary and bizarre happenings she attends. Like a children’s party, an alien abduction, a football game, and a club outing. The video culminates with Plaza… flying a dragon. She is joined by another American sweetheart. One and only Nick Offerman hits the skies alongside Aubrey and they laugh hysterically. Well, we definitely had a blast with this ad.

6. Tina Fey books whoever she wants to be – Booking.com

Celebrities: Tina Fey, Glenn Close, Jack McBrayer, Jane Krakowski

Why: Super Bowl ads are awesome for their power to bring back beloved TV characters together. In 2024 Booking.com decided to give “30 Rock” fans a mini-holiday by featuring Tina Fey, Jane Krakowski, and Jack McBrayer in one video. Oh, and Glenn Close makes an appearance too. Epically, on the horse. They all play Tina Fey’s body doubles that test the possibilities of Booking.com.

The Amsterdam-based booking giant has hit big with this ad. Currently, it has more than 136 million views. The $7 billion marketing budget definitely works. In any case, we just got ourselves a beautifully crafted celebrity ad.

7. Tom Has Won Enough – BetMGM

Celebrities: Tom Brady, Vince Vaughn, Wayne Gretzky

Why: Tom Brady isn’t allowed in the MGM properties because he’s won enough. This is the message that Vince Vaughn trying to get across, including to Tom Brady. The ad also features an appearance from the legendary Wayne Gretzky. It’s just fun to watch as the celebrities are just having a good time punning each other. Also, it has Tom Brady dressing up as a fake billiard champion. Who thought that Brady could act. But here he goes, carrying the whole ad. And we love it.

Here is our previous list of Best Celebrity Ads 2023

When it comes to celebrity ads, we’re hardcore fans. When you’ve got a star marketing your product it’s always a win-win. Celebrities in ads are a guarantee that there will be proper attention paid to whatever you’re promoting. And usually, such campaigns find brands on top of their creative game. So let’s see what 2023 gave us in terms of celebrity ads, shall we?

1. Go Bigger – Bush’s Beans

Celebrity: Peyton Manning

Why: there’s quite nothing like an American former football quarterback Payton Manning stirring the pot with beans and talking to a talking golden retriever. But that’s the Super Bowl and Bush’s Beans wasted zero chances to deliver a memorable and charming celebrity endorsement. Very light-weight and funny, it conquered our bean-craving hearts.

2. ‘Drive-Thru’ Starring Ben – Dunkin’

Celebrity: Ben Affleck and J Lo

Why: it’s refreshing to see Ben Affleck playing around and not just smoking in the depressive state near the backdoor of some shady joint in NYC. Dunkin’ did what we all wanted but did not imagine that could be possible. The company put the Batman-playing actor behind the takeaway counter. The result is hilarious as the famous man is the last person you expect to do an ad stunt like that. But wait until the end when the Queen herself shows up in an SUV to take our hero home. J Lo adds a special charm to the campaign and proves that Dunkin’ comfortably swims the waters of pop culture. Definitely one of our favorite celebrity ads of 2023.

3. Jack’s New Angle – Dorito’s

Celebrity: Jack Harlow (and Elton John)

Why: there’s a lot going on in Jack Harlow-starring Dorito’s commercial that rocked hard during the Super Bowl in 2023. That’s a clever take on the current social media-dominated landscape that features many memorable gags and even a cameo from Elton John. The premise is quite absurd, but we expected no less. Jack is trying to find the right sound for his next track. Inspired by the triangle-shaped Dorito chip he sees it. The triangle. Then things quickly go west. Triangle fever is spreading fast with triangle-shaped fashion shows, triangle cologne, and a triangle awards show. Talk about memorable symbolics, Dorito’s nailed it big time. Overall, one of the coolest celebrity endorsements in recent memory.

4. Snoop Dogg Commercial – Skechers

Celebrity: Snoop Dogg (with appearances from Howie Long, Tony Romo, and Martha Stuart)

Why: Skechers are not Nike or Adidas. Rarely does this brand dominate the ad conversation. But it changed in 2023. The company decided to go all-in with its Snoop Dogg commercial, an ultra-colorful, funny, and good-natured showcase of shoes. The charisma of the famous rapper drives this ad forward and the cameos from a series of well-known guests make it a highly pleasant watch.

5. A Mountain of Entertainment – Paramount

Celebrity: Primary – Sylvester Stallone. Supporting – his daughters Sophia, Scarlet and Sistine, Dora the Explorer, Captain Pike, Ensign Mariner, Lieutenant Dangle, and Beavis and Butt-Head

Why: finally, the veil of secrecy is taken off one of the places from these introductory videos of big Hollywood production houses. Paramount shows us what the actual mountain looks like and what characters live there. We discover that it has three faces (narrated by Dora the Explorer herself) – the Northern, the Southern, and the “Stallone Face”. You see, the ad is for the promotion of Paramount + streaming and it gathers its top performers. Sylvester Stallone seems like the most treasured asset with his crime drama “Tulsa King” and the company puts focus on him climbing that “Stallone Face” mountain. The cameo from his three daughters makes this campaign even more hilarious.

6. Breaking Good – PopCorners

Celebrity: Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Raymond Cruz

Why: the Breaking Bad gang has its reunion. Directed by the show’s creator Vince Gilligan and featuring a star squad comprised of Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul (with an appearance from Raymond Cruz), it’s a lesson of fantastic celebrity ads. Not only it’s perfectly assembled, but every outlet in the country and beyond has written about it. When you pair your product (in this case, the PopCorners) with such a beloved IP that never gets old, the marketing magic happens. The result is an exemplary placing of celebrities in ads that you simply cannot skip.

7. Who’s in the Fridge – Hellmann’s

Celebrity: John Hamm, Brie Larson, Pete Davidson

Why: surreal advertising at its finest, the famous mayonnaise brand’s Super Bowl ad has an electric chemistry between its stars and several light laughs. Hamm and Brie are in the fridge. Next to a Hellmann’s can. Whoever thought about this probably smoked beforehand but we’re not complaining. Just when our heroes accept their fridge-living fate, the door opens and Pete Davidson shows up “to eat you”. Josh Hamm confidently responds “you’re really everywhere” referring to a popular internet opinion that Pete Davidson is everywhere on the celebrity news with his highly publicized personal life. Probably, that was some hallucination as we see our celebrities in their out-of-the-fridge versions standing and enjoying the meal at the end of the ad. That was a hell of a ride, you guys. Mayonnaise rocks.
