The celebrated American luxury jewelry brand has unveiled an immersive pop-up experience at US Open 2024. Tiffany & Co. has deployed a jewelry and technology-filled installation at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City. Here’s what you should know.
Immersive pop-up experience for lovers of tennis and luxury
Immersive pop-ups are not only reserved for shopping malls and urban spaces. Tiffany & Co. decided to bring one to the famous tennis tournament. And it’s a beautiful celebration of the game, the luxurious jewelry, and the craft.
Tiffany & Co.’s partnership with US Open goes way back. Since 1987, the jewelry house has been supplying Men’s and Women’s Singles Championship Trophies. That’s why the immersive pop-up the company presented goes in line with years of fruitful collaboration between the two.
Each trophy is handcrafted by Tiffany & Co. at the hollowware workshop in Cumberland, Rhode Island.
The US Open 2024 immersive pop-up is fully devoted to the history of the trophy-making. The visitors can take a look at the replicas of the trophies, take a glimpse at the Elsa Peretti Diamonds by the Yard tennis racket, and get lost in the whimsical kingdom of the turquoise-colored tennis balls.
But what about the immersive element? Well, innovative digital signage technology is here too. Tiffany & Co.’s pop-up features an AR Mirror developed by Snap Inc. that gives visitors a chance to take a virtual plunge into the jewelry maker’s world of sophisticated luxury.
Immersive pop-up is the new normal for luxury brands
The immersive brand experiences are hot right now. In 2024, many luxury retail companies have turned to pop-ups that feature digital signage technology to promote their products.
For example, Mugler brought a technology-enhanced immersive experience to Paris with their Alien Hypersense pop-up:
Then, there was a Colby bag-themed Michael Kors pop-up that featured DJ performances, touchscreens, and lots of displays:
And how can we not mention the dazzling Cartier’s Trinity 100 immersive pop-up experience in Singapore with large projection screens:
