Day 1 at DSE 2024 is over and it’s time for a blog post. The largest digital signage trade show in the world didn’t disappoint. Although, it was smaller than ISE and InfoComm, Day 1 at Digital Signage Experience brought many opportunities and introduced new trends. Here’s what Kitcast did and saw.
What is DSE 2024?

DSE (or Digital Signage Experience) is an annual event devoted to all things digital signage technology.
This year it had two main blocks:
- the conference taking place December 7-10, 2024
- the expo on December 9-10, 2024
Kitcast is an exhibitor at an expo.
Traditionally, DSE is held at the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall.

In 2024, DSE is at the same time as LDI (Live Design International), another big industry event showcasing the latest trends in the live entertainment industry and gathering lighting designers, sound technicians, stage designers and manufacturers.
In other words, this December Las Vegas became a hotspot for digital technology. Kitcast couldn’t miss it. We participate in DSE every year and 2024 wasn’t an exception.
What did Kitcast expect from Day 1 at DSE 2024?
It’s hard to predict how the trade show will go. That’s why it’s better to keep your expectations in check.
Sometimes, as in the case of ISE 2024 in Barcelona, you expect big traffic numbers but there’s nobody on the floor. Or, in other instances, you’re getting much bigger attention from a specialized crowd at a smaller event (like Educause). There’s always Jamf Nation where it’s consistently great.
But what about DSE? What were our expectations before setting up the Kitcast booth?
Well, we know DSE from experience. Kitcast has been exhibiting there since 2017, so this trade show is like coming home for us.
Talking about expectations, it was about:
– opportunity to meet new clients
– communicate with existing clients
– network with other digital signage companies
– see the latest trends
– attend learning sessions
– get inspired
Have we achieved our goals? Absolutely. We were happy to be on the floor and exploring the floor. One thing we didn’t do enough, maybe, was the learning sessions part as there simply wasn’t enough time to both be at the booth and attend the roundtables.

“There’s a lot of trade show marketing power in getting right to the point”
Sixteen:Nine
This is what Dave Haynes wrote for Sixteen:Nine about our booth design at DSE 2022. We continue to live by this principle. Kitcast booth serves a very clear message: “We do digital signage software for Apple TV.”
The design is an embodiment of simplicity that is at the core of our product. Such messaging captures the attention of DSE attendees and gets straight to the point.
But we didn’t come to DSE 2024 empty-handed, we brought some perks. First of all, people coming to our booth can get their first Kitcast license for free. It’s a great way to get a taste of the all-new Kitcast.

Also, we have our trademark stickers and some sweets for a sugary boost. Judging from our previous conference experience, these things work like a charm to draw people to the booth.
This is our CPO Alex Chirva in action at the booth:

Our booth number is 3311
Now, let’s switch to a blogging mode. Here are the coolest booths and things we saw during Day 1 at DSE 2024.
Fusion CI Studios turned heads with transparent LED art
Fusion CI Studios used Clear LED’s 13-meter, transparent LED cube to bring the “Inside Irises” digital composition. Everyone noticed and everyone took pictures and videos of it. Now that’s how you make an impression at a trade show.

The installation was part of the Innovation Park. We loved the bench placed next to the digital art piece as if we were indeed in some futuristic park. Every year, there’s some centerpiece technology that gathers all the eyeballs. During ISE this was Samsung’s The Wall and LG’s kinetic art. At DSE that’s “Inside Iris” without any doubt.
Innovation Park is the most fun place to be at DSE
Who doesn’t like eye-catching new technology? DSE’s Innovation Park area was the place to see and touch it. From rotating LED globes to interactive screen-equipped game tables, this was the most interesting area of the show.

The booth game was strong
Digital signage and LED companies took booth design creatively and we were treated to some very cool stands.
OptiSigns brought the “OptiClaw” arcade:

Dakco had a superb screen combo:

But our favorite design came from ClearLED. The company created a flashy entrance with two LEDs hanging like some digital flags in a sci-fi space opera:

Creating your “zone” is a big deal during a busy trade show. We’re yet to find any restaurant and coffee shop booths like at ISE but that’s what Day 2 is for.
rAVe [PUBS] demos the all-new Kitcast

rAVe [PUBS] is the top AV news organization. In other words, if there’s an AV-themed conference, they will be there. And if they are around, we’re happy to demo our product. That’s exactly what happened on Day 1 of DSE 2024.
Our Chief Growth Officer Vadym Nekhai talked about all the awesome new features of Kitcast V2.

The video should be available soon. We’re going to share it on our socials.
Final thoughts about Day 1 at DSE 2024
Day 1 was great. We can’t wait to start Day 2.
You feel exhausted after a whole day at a trade show. But it’s also a very inspiring experience. Connecting with people and getting them to know about your product is an amazing thing to do.
We’re excited to continue the booth work on December 10.
See you at B:3311!
